why write?

At least, why write now? For those who are “done” with classes, you might be thinking that is the last thing you would want to do. And, I can’t say I blame you. I’ve been there…no more words. I’m all out. Though it may feel as though you are “out” for life, it’s really just a season. The words will return.

We all go through different seasons, some where the leaves are drying out, shriveling up, and drifting to the ground as if life will never return, and some where every day seems to be blossoming and blooming in a whirl of colors and fragrances that make your senses giddy with life. I guess I’ve experienced both to some degree, but right now I’ve entered a totally new season, at least for me. I know that every year parents enter the doors of their once bustling homes and hear it in the too tidied family room, in the stillness of the kitchen, in the bored laundry room, and all through the halls…deafening silence. I know it’s not a new thing to humanity, but it’s new to me. And if I’m going to be honest, I can’t say that I’m a big fan. I mean, sure, it does have some perks for marriage, but overall, I miss the noise.

So now I find myself listening to the dog sigh as though the weight of the world is on her shoulders, and I find myself thinking…and thinking…and thinking…a lot. I’ve been blogging internally for years, but I guess I thought it was time to let some of it out. So, ready or not, here goes nothing…
